2023 Grantees

Each year, Ojai Women’s Fund makes substantial grants to local organizations that target critical needs in five focus areas. We are pleased to announce that this year’s member donations are providing grants to seven nonprofit organizations serving residents of the Ojai Valley. With the 2023 grants totaling $85,635, we will have bestowed nearly $700,000 since 2016. 

Ojai Festivals

$15,000

Ojai Festivals received a grant to continue their Artists-in-Residence program, which aims to introduce students to quality live music, encourage listening skills, teach music traditions, and encourage personal music participation.

Ojai Valley Youth Foundation

$9,600

Ojai Valley Youth Foundation received a grant to provide enrichment programs to Nordhoff students, including college campus tours, art instruction, music, cooking, improvisation, environmental activism, robotics, and visits to cultural institutions such as museums.

Ventura Land Trust

$10,000

Ventura Land Trust received a grant to provide more opportunities for children in low-income households in the Ojai Valley to enroll in the Ventura Wild program, which teaches how to engage with nature, learn about conservation, and develop a deeper connection to the local environment.

HELP of Ojai

$15,000

HELP of Ojai received a grant for the Housing Assistance Fund Inclement Weather Program, which assists housing insecure and unhoused residents of the Ojai Valley in need of temporary shelter due to inclement weather conditions, health issues, and/or domestic violence.

Performances to Grow On

$9,600

Performances to Grow On received a grant to extend to all school-age students their programs of educational, engaging, and artistic performances that encompass a diverse variety of artistic and cultural traditions.

Secure Beginnings

$11,435

Secure Beginnings received a grant to expand their successful sliding scale/free 1:1 Parent/Caregiver Consultation Program addressing challenging life events and parenting/child development concerns for Spanish-speaking families.

OjaiCARES

$15,000

OjaiCARES received a grant to fund the Patient Navigation program, which helps people receive timely and appropriate medical care and psycho-social support to help reduce the stress of living with cancer.
